Do you find any problems with your flood zone insurance provider? Everything in life does not always go as smoothly as we expect. Like our normal daily issues, it can also happen with your flood zone insurance company.

You must keep in mind that the flood insurance company is not a stand alone unit but part of an organization or a group. This means that whenever you have a score to settle, they will try and settle it depending on their laws and the regulations of the organization.

So whenever you have a complaint against your insurance company or whenever you are not satisfied with the services of the provider you are free to go to the sales agent who have sold you the policy and file a complaint. There will always be someone to address your complaints. However there are some steps to be taken so that it goes to the necessary department.

Because your insurance provider is part of a larger organization, there will always be an or other appropriate person who can and will address your complaint. Keep in mind that the company hs a reputation to protect and must therefore do things in a very rigid and systematic order. Many people entrust their money and property to these companies, and they must always remain credible to their clients.

The first thing you must remember is when you choose your flood insurance company, make sure that it is a member of one or all insurance organizations. If they are not, then your mind should start working and asking questions. Insurance or trade organizations regulate rules for their member organizations.

In the UK, you could check if your flood insurance company is a member of any of the two main organizations. There is the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (IBRC) and the Association of British Insurers (ABI). Knowing which organization your insurance provider belongs to could easily guide you know where to go.

If your provider is a member of one or both of these organizations, you can rest a little easier. Membership in these organizations means that the provider is governed by a strict set of rules and regulations, and means that you can expect your complaint to be handled by someone with a great deal of expertise in that area.

Then there is the new organization called the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) which is slowly taking charge of the regulation of the insurance industry. When you have a complaint, you must file your complaint directly to your insurance provider in writing. When they answer and you are not satisfied, find out what the complaints procedure is and follow it. Your complaint could either fall into the ombudsman scheme or an arbitration scheme.

Should your case go to an arbitrator, both your and your insurance provider must agree to accept the decision without further action. If instead, it goes to an ombudsman, your insurance provider has to agree to the decision, but you have the option of disagreeing and pursuing the case in court at your own(usually very high)expense.
