For centuries people have donned masks for multiple reasons from masquerade balls to religious rituals to Halloween, or Samhain, parties. Across the world, in many different countries for many different reasons masks have become a way for people to transform into someone else for the day. In theater masks are used to change from one character to another. Masks can be almost magical and are appealing to many, especially on Halloween.

Choosing a mask is done in many ways. Some people like to choose a mask then build the perfect costume around it. Other people like to find a perfect costume then search for the right mask to finish off the look. Either way finding your perfect mask is an important part of accessorizing for Halloween. Choosing the perfect mask should be fun, that is what dressing up is about.

You can take a simple costume and add a Halloween mask or other scary mask to it to transform it into something wonderful and imaginative. I you choose a mask that is supposed to make you look like someone else or transform you into a scary monster, one of the most realistic Halloween masks you can choose will be made of latex. What’s your pleasure? You can be Frankenstein, Princess Diana, a fairy princess, even Prince Charming. If you have a favorite television character, impersonate that favorite television character at your next party.

If you’re looking for something scary, Halloween masks are an especially good way to impersonate a monster. You can choose anything from creepy clowns to masks of characters and popular movies such as those of the Halloween original and sequels. You can even impersonate a mummy or the walking dead. So go ahead, get as ghoulish as you want. Again, if a less scary character is more to your liking, you can impersonate everybody from Ronald Reagan to your favorite television character.

Other perhaps less scary choices include witches, wizards, Mardi Gras masks, or pirates. If you want to impersonate an old man or woman, you can do that, too. Of course, you can choose such favorites as kings or queens as well.

There are so many different masks available for you to choose from, all that is limiting you is your imagination. You can be anyone you wish for Halloween. Whether you choose to be scary, funny, or just different there is a perfect Halloween mask waiting for you to wear on October 31st.

Last year the most popular Halloween masks for children were the usual pumpkin, princess, pirate, witch, cat, and vampire masks along with Spider-Man, Superman, Power Rangers, and Disney Princesses. Adults enjoyed wearing Witch, pirate, vampire, cat, clown, fairy, and gypsy masks as well as ghost and ghoul masks. With a variety of accessories available for Halloween and a wide selection of masks you would think you can be just about anything you want to be.
