Most homeowners simply want an alarm that prevents people breaking into their house. Most alarms work as deterrents, while a few will try to catch the burglars when they try to break into your house. Some burglars are so determined that they will get into the house no matter what security system you put in place, these security systems will only normally frighten off opportunistic thieves.

When you are fitting a wired security system you must make sure that you hide all of the wiring, especially from the outside of the house. Most home alarm systems will notify the police of a break in using your phone line, this is only useful if you make sure the phone line cannot be cut from outside of the house. If the phone line has been cut then it’s pretty much useless.

The first type of alarm that you should consider using is a perimeter home security system. However these can create ways in if one of the sensors fails. You can use infrared motion sensors inside the house, however if you’ve got a pet then these will be prone to false alarms. You should think about your individual situation when designing and installing your own air compressor and alarm.
