Treat Your Acid Reflux with Vinegar

Today if you are looking for a completely natural way of treating your acid reflux then why not give the acid reflux and vinegar method a try. Although there are plenty of over the counter along with prescription medications one can use for treating this condition. The problem is that many of them come with side effects which can result in other medical problems or which could make your condition worse.

This is probably one of the main reasons why so many people are now preferring to rely on natural remedies over conventional medications. Plus they are also far cheaper to buy than conventional types of medication that you can buy. In this article we look at why some people are now considering trying to use vinegar as a way of treating their acid reflux problems.

As you will soon discover when you look more closely at this method of treating acid reflux there are plenty of stories from people who have found it successful. But there are still plenty of people who feel that it may be a complete waste of time. The reason for this being that vinegar is acidic and therefore it will actually make the condition much worse rather than helping to improve it.

One reason as to just why vinegar works so well at treating this particular condition is in some cases rather than a person’s body producing too much acid it produces too little. Because of this the food, which a person then consumes, cannot be digested properly and is allowed to remain in the stomach and ferment. It is the fermentation of the food within the stomach that then may result in a person suffering from acid reflux symptoms.

Yet a person who chooses to increase their vinegar consumption (ideally it should be apple cider vinegar) they find that their stomach is able to digest food better. If the stomach is then able to digest the food a person has eaten this will reduce the likelihood of the symptoms of acid reflux happening. Even though there are plenty of success stories around as yet there is no firm evidence through tests being carried out to show this.

Apple cider vinegar seems to work, as it is able to mimic the levels of acid that one would normally find in your stomach. Because the levels of acid in the stomach are much more balanced then this means that it can help to digest the food and in turn be absorbed by the body.

Before you actually start using vinegar to treat your acid reflux the first thing you should do is discuss the matter with your doctor. If they agree to you using this method then you need to take 1 tablespoon before each meal that you eat. You may find that within 3 days of starting this course of treatment you start to feel some relief from your acid reflux symptoms. Also if you continue to use it then you may find that within 3 to 9 months of starting the treatment your symptoms will disappear completely.

It is important however to note that although there are many people who have found the acid reflux and vinegar method to be completely effective at treating their problem. There are also plenty more out there who have found it completely ineffective and in some cases has exacerbated and made the problem worse for them.
