Creating baby book Scrapbooking Memories
Filed Under Home & Family |
Baby book scrapbooking is simple and fun - plus, it’s a great way to keep the memories of your child safely stowed away and organized for years to come. What are the basic steps for creating that perfect baby book?
1. You will want to begin with a selection of your favorite photos. The pictures are the essence of the book. Therefore, be sure to pick your favorite pictures from your collection. One way to begin your scrapbooking adventure is to work chronologically. You can start with pictures from your pregnancy. From there, you can add photos from the different stages in your baby’s life.
2. The opening page can simply be a short introduction which includes information such as the baby’s name, date of birth, as well as the place of his birth.
3. On the pregnancy pages, try to capture the thoughts and feelings you felt while waiting for your baby to arrive. Journal about the anticipation and excitement you felt, as well as your nerves and any other tidbit you find compelling enough to include at the beginning of the baby book. Here you can place sonogram pictures and leave heartfelt and humorous comments regarding food cravings you may have experienced, and other interesting anecdotes. Pictures of your growing tummy also make a good addition to this section of the book.
4. Dedicate a page to your baby shower. Here you can include photos from the event, and even create multiple entries if you were lucky enough to have more than one baby shower. Write out a list of the gifts you received at the showers so that you can always remember the special tokens your friends, family, and coworkers gave you at each party. Make a pocket page for tucking away cards and well-wishes.
5. The next section should be your baby’s first day at home. This page can also include any hospital pictures, as well as his coming home pictures. A great addition to these pages would be a journaling page on the baby’s birth statistics, such as his time of birth, length and weight. A great keepsake in the book would be the hospital bracelets.
6. In any scrapbook, journaling is extremely important. This is where you can record all of your emotions and thoughts regarding the entire pregnancy, birth and first days at home. Journaling will help you to always remember and cherish these feelings, even years down the road.
