Do you love smoothies? Even if you do, there’s a fair chance you haven’t heard about green smoothies yet. If that’s true, you are really in for a treat. These things are so good, you might even be able to get your whole family eating healthier green veggies.

If you’re never tried a green smoothie before, you may be wondering what that is exactly. There’s no definite answer here, since there are a wide variety of green smoothies. Basically, though, it’s a smoothie that uses both fruits and leafy green veggies.

Eating greens is good for you, most of us know that. But even though that’s common knowledge, a lot of people don’t eat enough vegetables. There are plenty of reasons why, but the more commonplace reason is a lack of time.

When you make a green smoothie the process of eating these is as simple as drinking something down! Who doesn’t have the time to drink a drink? You’ll be getting great nutrients and an excellent flavor to boot.

A particularly good time to drink green is for breakfast. The vitamins and minerals can really get you going early in the morning.

You will be shocked at the amount of focus you will achieve. Not to mention the lack of fatigue! All that fiber doesn’t hurt either right?

If you are at all familiar with green smoothies, you probably already know what goes in them. However, in case you aren’t quite sure, I have included a few of the ingredients that are usually in them.

Examples of greens you might use include: Lettuce, Spinach, Chard, Cale

If you love those ingredients you’re probably ready to go. If your nose is turning up at the thought of drinking these you’ll want to read on! It definitely gets better for those fruit lovers out there.

Along with these greens it is a good idea to use fruits as well. Not only will they mask some of the leafy flavor (if you don’t enjoy it) but it will also pack another nutrient punch. There are an unlimited number of different fruits to try.

Some of the favorites are: Bananas, Strawberries, Mangoes and Blueberries

When you mix these different combinations you’ll come out with something that the whole family can enjoy. You might even get your children on board to becoming healthier all the time.

Most people like smoothies because of how delicious they are, so it shouldn’t be hard to persuade everyone. However, green smoothies are only as good as the recipes, so you’ll want to read and compare different recipes as a starting point for developing your own.
