The choice for utdoor cooking equipment for barbeque primarily has three options:

* Gas

* Gas

* Gas

It’s a rite of spring, at least in the northern climes, after a hard winter, to think about grilling outside. Almost everyone can be a gourmet chef and the only thing you need is a grill. The spring sales are coming up and you need to get ready if you want to buy a new grill.

Charcoal, Gas, or Wood?

When you shop for outdoor cooking grills for sale, the inevitable question out of the salesperson’s mouth is going to be “charcoal or gas?” The food cooked on these grills does have distinct flavors and therefore, it is important to decide in advance what your preferences are. Some people enjoy the slightly charred taste of food cooked over an open flame with wood and charcoal while others enjoy the grilled taste of food over a gas grill flame.

The barbeque grills for cooking outside are varied in size. The gas grills are more bulky because they have to hold the gas progpne tank. The grills come in different colors although most are done in basic black. The types of metal can vary also from almost flimsy to heavy cast iron.

My cousin swears by wood, but he lives next to a forest and always has a free and ready supply of wood.

Supplies and Maintenance

A charcoal barbeque grill doesn’t have many parts so the maintenance is relatively inexpensive. When you buy a gas barbeque grill for cooking outdoors you run into higher maintenace cost because their are more parts to the gas grill. Parts rust and wear out and have to be replaced. Gas propane takes run out of gas and must be refilled. With charcoal, a full bag is happiness and almost every sotre carries bags of charcaol, but only certain places will refill your propane tank.

Another messy maintenance task if you have a charcoal or wood grill is emptying the ashes left over from the grilling process. A good place to dump them is in your garden. The plants will lthank you. Another task that should be performed evry time you cook a new meal on the barbeque grill is cleaning the grate. All type of outdoor barbeque grill have grates. They can get pretty scummy and greasy and who wants their food in contact with that. Always clean your grill off before using it for a new grilled meal.

Now Is The Time To Pick Which Grill to Buy

The charcoal grill is cheaper than the gas grill, has fewer parts and less maintenance and takes up less space than the gas grill. The gas fired outdoor barbeque is faster in coming up to cooking speed, has more maintenance costs, and is more expenseive than the charcoal grill. If your budget is really tight, consider a Japanese hibachi. Another factor to consider is that some people enjoy the flavors that a wood or charcoal fire gives the food. Other people enjoy the gas fire on their food. It all depends what your requirements are and how much you are willing to spend on outdoor barbeque cooking equipment.

Wood can be the cheapest as far as cost goes if you have a free supply. The problem with wood is that it takes much longer than charcoal or gas to get to the proper cooking temperature. Some prefer the taste that the wood imparts to the food that you may not get with a gas grill.

Give all thses options some serious thought. A grill can last quite a few years and you don’t want to be stuck with one you don’t like and never use.
