Ever completely space out on something? Like you knew something important was coming up but weren’t entirely sure what it was, and then, suddenly, Mother’s Day was upon you and you hadn’t even thought to send your mom a card? Yeah, me neither. But suppose you had a friend who did. What kind of advice would you give them?

Flowers are easily the all-time best short-notice gift, but the trick is to get something uncommon. For Mothers Day flowers should express the sentiment of “Thanks Mom!.” So, unless your mother’s favorite flowers are red roses, that kind of trite romantic gesture is inappropriate.

For Mother’s Day you have your choice of many different types of flowers. Among those flowers are daisies, violets, daffodils, lilies and more. You can send a formal or casual arrangement by combining flowers of various colors and textures. If you feel you can’t combine flowers properly then look for an arrangement that is already put together using different flowers.

How can you get the flowers at the last minute? It depends on your situation. If your mother lives nearby you can pick them up at the florist’s. When distance is an issue, you can order the flowers online. It works; ordering flower delivery is very reliable when done through the internet.

After you have located a flower shop online, they can facilitate the transaction. Before you know it, the chosen blooms will be plucked, packaged and delivered on her desk or doorstep. However, remember that orders placed the week of a major “flower” holiday such as Mother’s Day or February 14th carry a considerably larger fee. Think of it as the trade off for waiting until the last moment to do this shopping.

So now when an important date like Mother’s Day closing in fast and your “friend” is hard up for something to let their mother know they’re thinking of her, you’ll be able to give them advice about a sure-fire crowd pleaser of a gift. Or be able to work your own way out of a similar jam, should the need for Mother’s Day flowers ever arise.
