Learn How Video Conferencing Can Save You Money

Regardless of whether you want to have a conference with five people or a hundred, video conferencing can make meetings an absolute breeze. Sharing computer desktops and virtual whiteboards mean that video conferences can be as effective as face to face ones. The possibilities for training are also excellent using the latest technology.

Here are some more advantages to video conferencing.

* The costs involved in video conferencing are a lot less than for conventional meetings. For a normal business meeting, gathering a sales forces together for example, can cost an awful lot of money in travelling expenses. This is not just the cost of travelling to and from the location (which you would have to hire in all probability) either. People travelling any distance would require accommodation, refreshments and meals. Not withstanding the actual costs in terms of money, the work time lost travelling is also considerable, time that would not be wasted with a video conference.

* In this day and age, people keep most of their work information on the computer. Obviously, if you are at home in a video conference, all of this information is readily to hand. There is no danger of leaving an important document at and airport if you never have to leave home for the meeting.

* Another major advantage of a video conference is the ease with which people outside of an organisation can join in. Say for example you are involved in building projects, the chances are that a different architect would be used for each project. If your meeting requires the presence of a non employed expert, it is far easier to organise if you are running a video conference rather than a meeting in the flesh.

* It is possible to record video conferences, so that they can be re-run at a later date. This kind of thing can be an invaluable training aid as well, so that your staff can improve presentation skills for example.

* Being able to see everyone on video is almost as good as seeing them face to face. It is far less impersonal than a simple telephone call for example. Having this facility available can speed up some of your business processes as well, and, as they say, time is money!

If you compare the experience of a telephone conference to a video conference, then video conferencing wins hands down again. Seeing your fellow delegates on video is a major advantage to the experience gained of shared call meetings.

With the improvements in technology come reductions in costs as well as better technical facilities. The longer time goes on, the better value for money that video conferencing becomes.
