Camera Resolution What Does It Mean

Before you rush off to buy that quality of photo paper so you can have your digital photos printed at home, there are certain items you must be aware of when preparing for digital print. It can be as easy as I upload a print. However if you want the best quality and cleanest resolution as well is the most true and vibrant colors, then follow these guidelines that are used by professional photographers as well as graphic artists

You may have seen two different acronyms, PPI and DPI. Most people use them interchangeably believing that they mean the same thing. Although they are similar they actually do find different stages of the photography or printing process.

PPI means pixels per inch. This can be thought of as an input unit such as how many pixels are captured by your members to censor when you take a picture. If you have a lower PPI, you can increase the DPI all you wish but you will still have a very small picture. Should you choose to enlarge the photograph it will become very grainy and blurry which is also known as pixelation.

Images become pixelated when there are not enough pixels in the image to accurately represent every color and line. Therefore, you get a lot she mosaic appearance. You can tell when the resolution is too low because lines are not as smooth as they should be and colors can appear blotchy.

This is where the quality of your camera is important because the more pixels you have in your photograph from the more options you have regarding size and resolution. The better quality the input the better the outcome will be.

Dpi is actually part of the printing process. It means dots per inch and refers to the offset printing process. If you have ever looked at a newspaper or magazine up close, you have most likely noticed a pattern of tiny dots that blend together to form the image.
